For those Webelos still interested in camping at Bovay this summer we will be signing up tomorrow, Tuesday June 23 so please let either myself, pack1179 [*Email address: pack1179 #AT# yahoo.com - replace #AT# with @ ] or Roxie, rallenscouts [*Email address: rallenscouts #AT# yahoo.com - replace #AT# with @ ] know by tomorrow that you are interested. The camping will be at the Bovay scout ranch near Navasota and will be July 19-July 22. The camping is for one Webelos and one parent.
Even though it will be hot there is a huge swimming pool and lots of activities to do for both scouts and parents.

I am going to promote the boys in Scout track to their next rank on Sunday at 6:00 pm so if you have not updated your son or your dens accomplishments, please do so as soon as possible. Several people have already asked about it since they’re ready to put the achievements earned at Day Camp into the system.

As a reminder, once your son reaches Webelos I rank, only den leaders have the ability to update Scouttrack so please ensure you email your son’s den leader from Pack 1179 (not from Daycamp) with the info on what they work on this summer. Additionally, the boys should plan to "visit" with their den leader about what they have done at their earliest convenience. Apparently the Scout Shop does have Webelos hand books in stock now.

We found a set of keys that has an electronic key for Coles Crossing on it at Day Camp last night. Please email me (rallenscouts [*Email address: rallenscouts #AT# yahoo.com - replace #AT# with @ ]) if you lost it so we can get it back to you. It also had a car key and a home key.

Speaking of Day Camp… Way to go Pack 1179! We were present in the greatest numbers of all the units with close to 80 boys registered and about thirty adults! I hope everyone had fun and I would like everyone to thank Kelly Faga when you see her for putting together such a great program.

Cubmaster Mike is taking a group of Webelos to Bovay for Summer Resident Camp!

Here is the information regarding the campout. Please email rallenscouts [*Email address: rallenscouts #AT# yahoo.com - replace #AT# with @ ] by June 15th if you’d like to join us. It is one parent-one boy camping rather than family camping. We’ve heard that it is lots of fun and everything is planned for you so all you do is show up! I’ll send more details at a later date with what you need to do to formally sign up and what you need to bring. Brandylee Marsh is offering a similar trip for boys who are Tigers-Bear Scouts at a different date.

Thanks for the great turnout last night at Crossover. I’ve attached this as a pdf if you’re having trouble reading it.

3. I will make the CD of the slide show in about a week. That way, if you’d like to send me pictures from crossover or you did not have time to get them to me in my short window, you can still send them to me. When I’m ready, I’ll send an email and I’ll make them for any of you who would like one. You can email them or drop them on a cd in the bin on my front porch. (13415 Layton Castle Lane)

4. We have quite a few programs remaining from last night. If yours got messed up, or you were unable to attend and you’d like one, feel free to drop by my house and get one. I’ll put them into the bin outside my front door.

5. We’ll be advancing the boys in Scouttrack next weekend to coincide with the council advancement. If you’ve left anything off that you’d still like to include, please do so by next weekend. If your son crossed over as a new tiger and I don’t have paperwork from you, please email me as soon as possible so I can get forms from you.

6. If you have feedback about how Crossover went or any of the events from this year, please let us know. I will be accepting reservations (w/payment) for tickets to go to the Astros game on July 24. Tickets are $14 each, seating in the Bull Pen area (great view & great value).

Please bring payment to Crossover tomorrow night. Make your check payable to Pack 1179. I will be picking up the tickets early next week, this is your last chance to get in on the group rate and go see an Astros game with other Pack Members.

I know it is last minute, but I’d love to put together a slide show for us to watch while we eat tomorrow night. So, if you have time in the next 24 hours, please either email me or bring me a labeled flash drive or cd with any pictures you’ve taken this year at either den events or pack events. I’ll put them together into a slide show for tomorrow night. I have pictures from several pack events like tree recycling and the two campouts, but I’d love more even of those! After that, I’m happy to burn cd’s of all the pictures for anyone that wants them, just give me a few weeks!

My address is 13415 Layton Castle Lane if you want to drop off a flash drive or cd. You can put it in the bin. I’ll get the flash drives back to you at Crossover tomorrow.

Den Leaders, a few reminders for Crossover.

*) We are going to need alot of help in Crossover, both in the ceremony as well as the Pot Luck. I think for the pot luck we can just setup all the tables like they do for lunches except we can setup one row along where the food serving is. This is for the food.
For the ceremony we need the new Webelos II boys (and den leaders) to help with the younger boys as they cross over to place the new neckerchiefs on. When each den is called, the den leader for that den can announce their names as they cross.

*) The new Webelos II leaders would like to recognize their boys as well. What do you need me to do? Will you do everything or what is the plan?

*) I forgot to pin the tails on the Tigers when they crossed over last year. I have 18 tails at my house. We need to remember to do that this year. How many Tigers are there? Den 7 will have 4 there I believe. How about the other Tiger dens?

*) Brandylee do you have all the neckerchiefs and slides?

*) I have the scripts for what to say. We will also have Raquel from Coles Cares to have an announcement. Is there anything else I am forgetting?

Just a quick reminder that we’re trying something new for Crossover, a Potluck dinner after the ceremony! This was in Mike’s email, but in case you did not see it, here are the assignments for what to bring. We’ll be eating in Sampson. The pack will provide tables to set food up on as well as paper products.

New Tigers (kindergarteners): side dishes
Tigers: drinks for 20 people
Wolf: side dishes
Bears: entrees
Webelos: desserts
